On a PC, there are two types of RAM: Physical RAM and Virtual RAM, both used for memory management.
Physical RAM is the memory that holds applications, documents, and procedures on a computer (More RAM, More Speed).
Virtual Memory, on the other hand, is a memory management technique that allows data in RAM that is not currently in use to be transferred to the hard disk, making space available in RAM for other programs.
Virtual memory holds the files on your hard drive for easy retrieval when a computer runs out of physical RAM.

- Go to “Control Panel” > Click on “System and Security” > navigate to the “System” section
- Select “View Amount of RAM and Processor Speed” from the options
- Click on the “Advanced System Settings” from the sidebar.
- From the “Advanced” tab, select “Settings” under the “Performance” section.
- Move to the “Advanced” Tab
- Under the “Virtual memory” section, click on the “Change button.“
- Select the C: Drive
- Un-tick the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” to enable the selection of the “Custom Size” option.
- Set the Initial size to at least 2000 MB and the Maximum size to 5000 MB, or set it as high as you like.
- Click the “Set” button, then click “OK” on all prompts.
- Lastly, click on the “OK” button at the bottom to finalize it
That’s it.
Now restart your PC so the changes you’ve made take effect.
Once your PC is back on, go back to number 6 and watch your Virtual RAM change as you can now enjoy better computation speed on your Windows PC.
