A PC must have a webcam installed to help its user make video calls, take selfies, play online games, and more, but the webcam should turn on only upon user request.
The features listed above are pretty cool, but did you know there’s a risk of malware spying on you through your webcam?

However, if you feel that your webcam is being triggered by some apps and services to steal specific information about you without your notice? Well, you can take control of your webcam and turn it OFF on your Windows 10 PC.
Below is a quick guide on how to Turn OFF your webcam in Windows 10.
How to Turn OFF Your Webcam in Windows 10
- Go to Device Manager by typing Device Manager in the Start Menu
- Navigate to Cameras or Imaging Option under the Device Manager,
- Expand the cameras or the Imaging option
- Right-click on the Integrated Webcam option and select Disable Device
- Click Yes to confirm the change

Once the above steps are completed successfully, launch your camera from the start menu. The camera shouldn’t be working anymore.

You can also enable the Webcam Device by navigating through Device Manager > Camera > Enable Integrated Webcam Device.
That’s all for now.
