Wait, did MTN follow suit after Airtel launched the 0.0kb free flashing feature?
Yes, however, on their end, you don’t have to add any prefix to the number before making the call.

In summary, if you’re out of credit and you don’t want to borrow airtime, you can still make calls to your friends and loved ones, and they’ll get a FLASH CALL to call you back.
According to a message by MTN;
Out of credit? Don?t want to borrow? No problem! Make calls to your friends and loved ones TODAY and they will get a FLASH CALL to call you right back.
Unfortunately, this free flashing feature isn’t available to all MTN users, so it is based on eligibility. I guess you’ll be eligible if you receive the message above on your sim.
However, if you’re picked, the Flash call ain’t limited to just mtn numbers; it also works for Airtel, 9mobile, and Glo users.
I guess this flash call eligibility is done based on daily selections, as it’s still in its beta state, maybe they’ll roll it out fully and make it avilable to all users when they decide.
Let’s briefly see how to go about this.
HOW TO CALL ANY NUMBER WITH 0.0KB ON MTN
- If you’re low on airtime and would like to call someone,
- Pick up your phone and make that call
- It’ll go through, although as a flash
- Then it’s up to the person you called to decide whether he wants to call you back.
This trick currently works only with Airtel & MTN, and there’s no limit, so you can use it as many times as you like.
